Meet Dr. Scott Upton

After-Hours Veterinarian

A Birmingham native, he’s proud to care for the community that shaped him. Before becoming a veterinarian, he studied microbiology and finance, driven by a curiosity for both the science behind medicine and the decisions that support great care. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine.

He began his career in Las Vegas, working in a busy hospital that combined General Practice and Emergency care. Late nights, urgent cases, tough moments. Those experiences sharpened his skills and reinforced what matters most: calm judgment, clear communication, and compassion when families are stressed and pets need help fast.

Now back home in Alabama, he’s committed to being the kind of veterinarian people trust. Someone who treats pets like family and shows up when it counts.
